It could just as well be otherwise! In my work I take objects and materials out of their usual context and turn them into pieces and installations that carry a sense of uncertainty. With a background in metalcraft I mostly work in steel, using techniques like forging and rolling. I bend, twist and tension the material in search for precarious states of balance. Materials exist in a state of ongoing negotiation, where their structural integrity is tested. Form is determined by gravity, tension and the specific resistance of the material. The robust becomes precarious, the fixed becomes negotiable—and within this instability, new possibilities emerge.
